Montpellier – Olympic tennis champion Alexander Zverev easily reached the final of the indoor tournament in Montpellier. The 24-year-old from Hamburg won his semi-final against Sweden’s Mikael Ymer 6:1, 6:3.
After 52 minutes, Zverev had reached the 29th final of his career. In Sunday’s final, Zverev, the No. 1 seed, will face Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan. The world number 35 won against Filip Krajinovic of Serbia 6:4, 6:2. Zverev can now look forward to the 20th title of his career. He had already won the tournament in Montpellier in 2017.
The day before, the Olympic champion, who had already lost to Canadian Denis Shapovalov in the round of 16 at the Australian Open a fortnight ago, had also clearly defeated Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.
