On the day off from training, two Bayern professionals made an appearance at Säbener Straße. One could leave the club
On Monday, a day after the 2:0 against Wolfsburg, the substitutes and reserves had to get to work and finish the player substitution training with energy-sapping sprints. Tanguy Nianzou, who could move to Sevilla FC, later sank to the ground exhausted, Leroy Sané, who had been substituted at half-time against Wolves, led the group.
24 hours later, the training pitches at Säbener Straße remained mostly empty apart from the second team. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting reeled off an intensive programme after his kidney stone operation, the striker should soon be available again.
The same goes for Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutchman had been absent from the squad against Wolfsburg due to illness, now he trained individually like Choupo-Moting – albeit at a more leisurely pace.
It remains unclear whether Zirkzee, whose star briefly rose under Hansi Flick at the end of 2019 after two match-deciding wildcard appearances, will be used again in the Bayern jersey. The Munich side would be willing to sell the tall attacker, but there is a market for him in England.
