Chinese tennis player Qinwen Zheng has won the rematch of the Olympic final from four weeks ago. Zheng had also triumphed in Paris and celebrated her greatest career success to date with the gold medal.

Surprising exit for defending champion Gauff
The defending 2024 champion surprisingly lost to her compatriot Emma Navarro in the round of 16. After a largely weak performance, she was defeated 3:6, 6:4, 3:6.
