Yellow instead of red! AF Corse presents the livery of the customer Ferrari 499P

AF Corse has unveiled the livery of the third Ferrari 499P: Unlike the two works Ferraris, the customer car is predominantly yellow in color

AF Corse has unveiled the livery for the third Ferrari 499P with starting number 83: The car of Robert Kubica, Robert Shwartzman and Yifei Ye shines in Giallo yellow, in reference to Modena, the Italian manufacturer’s home town. The look is reminiscent of the iconic features of the 499P, which triumphed in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans – albeit in the opposite color scheme.

This sets the third car, which is officially entered as an AF Corse customer car, apart from the two works Ferraris, which remain in red. The Italian racing team explained that the aim of the livery was to distinguish the third customer car from the two works cars.

So far, only a few sponsors can be seen on the privately entered racing car. AF Corse is sponsored by the Polish oil company ‘Orlen’, which is a personal sponsor of Kubica. The Pole is also the only driver signed directly by the Italian team. Shwartzman and Ye both belong to the works team and are official Ferrari drivers.

According to the regulations, Ferrari is not allowed to field a third works car, which is why the car with starting number 83 is listed as a customer car. It is not surprising that AF Corse, who are also responsible for running the works cars, are running the customer car: the Ferrari 499P is obviously too complicated to be run completely independently of the works.

This is not the first time that a Ferrari has been seen on the racetrack in a predominantly yellow livery: at the 1961 Belgian GP, Olivier Gendebien, then a three-time Le Mans winner, competed in Formula 1 in a yellow-painted factory Ferrari 156. Yellow Ferraris have also been seen time and again in the sports car sector in recent years
