Kevin Yebo returns to the Niners Chemnitz. The transfer of the center from FC Bayern Munich back to his former club is now official.
The 28-year-old has already passed the medical check and is training with Rodrigo Pastore’s team again. Yebo could make his first appearance for Chemnitz again in the away game against BG Göttingen on Saturday.
Negotiations had been ongoing behind the scenes for several days, and an agreement has now been reached. Yebo originally had a contract with Bayern until 2027, but the collaboration was terminated prematurely “by mutual agreement”.
Yebo wants to get back on track in Chemnitz
Born in Bonn, Yebo already played for the Niners between 2022 and 2024, where he developed into a key player. Last season, he led Chemnitz to the semi-finals of the BBL with 15.7 points and five rebounds per game and celebrated his greatest success to date with the FIBA Europe Cup title.
After joining Munich in the summer of 2024, Yebo was unable to assert himself in the high-caliber Bayern squad as hoped. Now, a return to Chemnitz seems to be the next logical step for him to take on more responsibility again.
