No surprises on Saturday evening in the BBL. The Niners Chemnitz and defending champions ratiopharm Ulm continue to march ahead
The Niners Chemnitz and defending champions ratiopharm Ulm are continuing to race ahead in the German Basketball League. Chemnitz defeated MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg 85:66 (28:30) and maintained its lead in the table ahead of Ulm, which won with some difficulty 100:90 (50:47) at relegation candidates BG Göttingen.
Chemnitz (13:2 wins) and Ulm (12:3) are comfortably in the lead. However, Bayern Munich (9:3) and Alba Berlin (8:3), who are active in the EuroLeague, have played fewer games.
Ulm’s best scorer was Karim Jallow with 25 points. Göttingen put up a strong fighting performance, but was no longer able to keep up in the final quarter. Karlis Silins stood out for the home side with 23 points.
Chemnitz only had problems with Ludwigsburg at the start, but then noticeably stepped up the pace. Center Kevin Yebo was the dominant player on court with 27 points, while Kaza Kajami-Keane notched up a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists
