Motor City Machine Guns Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin make their long-awaited debut on SmackDown. An old acquaintance gets involved in the Bloodline feud.
They have been expected in WWE for months, and for the past two weeks, telling video clips have been announcing their imminent arrival – now they are here!
At the current edition of the TV show Friday Night SmackDown, the league presented one of the best tag teams in recent wrestling history as new additions: The Motor City Machine Guns Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have made their WWE debut and immediately intervened in the race for the tag team titles.

That Sabin and Shelley would make an impact on SmackDown this week was already clear to die-hard fans when a video teaser announced the debut of “MCMG” last week – after there had already been clear hints in that direction the week before.
Now, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis actually welcomed the two of them on Friday’s show and gave them a title shot: The Machine Guns were put in a mini-tournament for a match against tag team champions The Bloodline and reached the finals by beating A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) and Angel and Garza.
Sabin and Shelley face DIY, one of the most accomplished WWE duos, is like a showcase. To show WWE fans what the Machine Guns are capable of.
Sabin, 42, and Shelley, 41, have held tag team titles in TNA, ROH, NJPW in Japan and many independent leagues. They had huge matches and feuds with the Young Bucks, the Briscoes, Beer Money Inc. (Robert Roode and James Storm) and SCU, and also had outstanding battles with today’s WWE top stars Tyler Black aka Seth Rollins (with his former partner Jimmy Jacobs) and Prince Devitt aka Finn Balor (with Ryusuke Taguchi).
Jey Uso joins Bloodline feud
Meanwhile, the epic story of the Bloodline and the rivalry between former leader Roman Reigns and new boss Solo Sikoa was told in the main segments of the show.
This week, the feud was driven by an old acquaintance: Intercontinental Champion Jey Uso, who is actually based at Monday’s RAW show, showed up at the beginning of the show to appeal to his little brother Sikoa’s conscience.
Jey reminded Sikoa of his own problems with Reigns and Jimmy, but also kept his distance from Sikoa when he courted him (on the condition that he recognize him as “Tribal Chief”).
Jey made no move in this regard, admonishing Solo that he had to earn respect and could not simply demand it. Sikoa stopped his enforcer Jacob Fatu from going after Jey, who left unmolested – but the tense atmosphere suggested that the appearance was not yet over. Behind the scenes, Jey, Jimmy and Reigns had another encounter in which Jey also brushed off the two.
Showdown at the “War Games”?
In the main event at the end of the show, there was a confrontation between Sikoa and Reigns, which continued the feud between the two – and the discussion about who the real “Tribal Chief” of the family clan is, ended as expected in a fight.
Sikoa summoned his companions Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa. Sikoa’s older brother Jimmy Uso came to Reigns’ aid, but the numbers were too great, and Reigns and Uso were beaten down like last week.
The story seems to be building toward a reunion of Reigns and the two Usos and a showdown with the new Bloodline, which would be an obvious move given the “War Games” at Survivor Series at the end of November.
