A few months after the emotional reunion of John Cena’s companions The Miz and R-Truth, Miz turns against his partner.
A popular wrestling duo has broken up – and the two-time WWE champion The Miz is obviously back on the dark side.
On the latest episode of the TV show Monday Night RAW, Miz turned against his partner R-Truth, making a “heel turn” to the villain. The reunited team “The Awesome Truth” is history again this year.

WWE RAW: The end of an emotional reunion
Miz and Truth had celebrated a rather emotional reunion just this year – 12 years after the two had last formed a team in WWE.
At the time, they were a team of villains who fought against the league’s biggest crowd favorites, including the two being the opponents of the megastar duo John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson when the latter made his first WWE comeback in 2011.
This year, the two teamed up under new circumstances: R-Truth, who turned 52 in January, reinvented himself a few years ago as a childlike and slightly mentally confused comedy character (among other things, he claims that Cena, who is 5 years younger, was his “childhood idol”). Miz showed his solidarity with Truth in the latter’s feud with the group Judgment Day earlier this year.
WWE allowed the two veterans – The Miz turns 44 next week – one more big appearance, at WrestleMania 40 they won the tag team titles of the RAW squad in the NFL stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles. The day after, there was another feel-good moment when old rival Cena teamed up with the two of them.
For Truth, the celebrated moment was also a happy ending after a difficult injury drama: he had been sidelined for over a year from late 2022 with a quadriceps tear, and due to complications from a post-op infection, he even had to fear a leg amputation.
The Miz drops R-Truth
In June, Awesome Truth lost the titles again to Judgment Day, that a split was imminent had already been hinted at in the past few weeks: Karrion Kross, leader of the heel faction The Final Testament, repeatedly manipulatively persuaded Miz that he should no longer be the watered-down version of himself.
Now it turned out that Miz had an open ear for Kross: During a match against Kross’ companion AOP, he not only abandoned Truth, but even beat him up and then delivered him to Akam and Rezar.
The former MTV reality star is obviously back on solo paths from now on.
