Seth Rollins tries to break Paul Heyman’s loyalty to his opponents Roman Reigns and CM Punk on WWE RAW. New matches for WrestleMania have been announced.
Last Friday, after months of guesswork, CM Punk revealed the favor Paul Heyman owes him for his WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins – now the matter has taken a new turn.
At the latest episode of the RAW TV show, the third man, Rollins, hoisted himself to the center of the action and in turn put the “wise man” of Reigns under pressure to do him a favor at the mega show in the NFL stadium in Las Vegas instead.
Rollins thinks Paul Heyman now owes him one
In the final segment of the show, Hall of Fame manager Heyman made it clear how he is caught between two stools by declaring his loyalty to both his “Tribal Chief” Reigns and Punk – “as a friend”.
Rollins interrupted him and asked whose side Heyman was really on. He shouldn’t be on Punk’s side or Reigns’ side when he thinks back on history: Rollins recalled Reigns’ long break after losing to Cody Rhodes – and how, according to the story, he had left Heyman alone. “He let you be massacred in your hometown in front of your children,” Rollins said, alluding to the beating of the new Bloodline by Solo Sikoa in New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Punk, too, could not trust Heyman, as the latter had proven often enough – he, too, had abandoned Heyman when he broke with WWE eleven years ago.
Rollins concluded his remarks by saying that Heyman should withdraw from the match altogether – and let him, Punk and Reigns alone “fight for the soul of the industry”.
The “Visionary” then approached Heyman threateningly, whereupon Punk came to his aid. A brawl ensued, in which Rollins got the upper hand, then approached Heyman again – and let him go. “Now you owe me a favor,” Rollins decided. When asked if Heyman felt bound by it, the situation before the WrestleMania match on Saturday before Easter took on a new dynamic.
New Matches for WrestleMania 41
During the show, WWE revealed more new matches for Mania: In a four-way fight for the Intercontinental Title, Bron Breakker will defend his belt against Penta, Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio.
Meanwhile, Mysterio’s legendary father Rey Mysterio will face the masked “El Grande Americano”, who is obviously his rival Chad Gable.
The news that the fight for the Women’s World Title from Iyo Sky is now a three-way battle has now been officially announced: After Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, who was dethroned by Sky, has now been added.
