A mysterious new group targets several champions at NXT. Jordynne Grace also makes her mark.
A mysterious new faction has made its first mark on WWE with a sensational shock staging.
At Vengeance Day, a NXT build-up special event, four masked men targeted champion Oba Femi and two other titleholders.
New WWE quartet attack champions
The as-yet-unnamed alliance first made itself known after the tag team title match between champions Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) and Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura, attacking all four participants.
After the main event, in which Femi defeated the main roster stars Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, the quartet reappeared and delivered a crushing powerbomb variation to Femi.
The four members of the group are Dion Lennox, ex-wrestler Cutler James, Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin, and their mysterious debut had been foreshadowed in the run-up to Vengeance Day.
Ex-NFL player at the center
For weeks, fans had been prepared for the group’s arrival by teasers in the form of test image interruptions at the end of NXT episodes. At the center was the cryptic message “MESSAGE. SENT.” – message sent.
The group’s leader seems to be Dion Lennox, real name Andrzej Hughes-Murray. Hughes Murray was a linebacker at Oregon State Beavers and was signed by the NFL, but never played for the Los Angeles Rams.
Lennox has been under a WWE contract since 2023 and has been on NXT TV for a while. The seeds for the story with Femi were already sown in January, when he ignored Femi for his title win and announced that he would challenge him one day – which Femi coolly ignored at the time and seemed far-fetched considering Lennox’s rather small role at the time.
Now it turns out: There was probably more to it even then.
Jordynne Grace is also there
There is a lot going on at NXT at the moment: the debut of former AEW star Ricky Starks was followed on Saturday night by the arrival of former TNA Women’s Champion Jordynne Grace, who recently appeared at the Women’s Royal Rumble.
Grace targeted both Women’s Champion Giulia – who had defeated Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade and Bayley in the main event – and the recently signed Stephanie Vaquer. Chilean wrestler Vaquer took the Women’s North American Title from Fallon Henley at Vengeance Day.
