Chelsea FC continue to be in trouble this season. A weary Thomas Tuchel again finds critical words.
It’s almost redundant this season: Chelsea FC act unusually unstable and unsettled, make a mixed game – and after a disappointing result a fed-up Thomas Tuchel faces the press.
Even since the preparation, the German coach does not seem satisfied, often pissed off, perplexed – and already mentioned the word “worrying” after the 0:4 test match defeat against Arsenal. Looking at the results of the last few weeks, this impression might have been reinforced, especially after the recent 2-1 defeat against Southampton.
“I don’t know if concern is the right word,” Tuchel said after the game, but still admitted: “I don’t think it takes much to beat us and I don’t like that.”
He added that it was too easy to keep the Blues “off balance. It already happened against Leeds.” Chelsea had lost 0:3 there. Although this was followed by a 2-1 win against Leicester, a critical Tuchel could not gain much from the success either.
Now, against Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Saints, Chelsea suffered the next setback in their unconvincing season so far. “We have to understand the reasons for this and find solutions,” says the former Bundesliga coach. However, there is not much time left. On Saturday, the Blues already welcome West Ham for the London city duel.
