HomeFootballWörns "still happy with the boys"

Wörns “still happy with the boys”

The German U-20s remained unbeaten for the third time in a row, but also drew for the second time in a row – this time 0-0 in Poland.

“It was the expected tough and intense game. The Poles were very fierce, but we held up well. We had a good structure and a few good chances up front,” DFB coach Christian Wörns summed up the game on the association’s website and also addressed problems: “We could have done better in the last third of the game.”

However, Wörns also stressed that he was “still satisfied with the boys”, probably because they were closer to victory. Germany were twice unlucky with an aluminium penalty after the change of ends

The German U-20s don’t have much time to think about the game, because they have to play Romania in Potsdam on Monday (3 p.m.). In November, the German juniors will face some really big names: On 11 November, they will play France in Clairefontaine, followed four days later by Portugal (venue and kick-off time have not yet been fixed).
