A new part of World of Outlaws will be released in autumn 2022. For the first time, Monster Games and iRacing are taking over the direction. For the latter, it is the first step into the world of console games.
Comeback and innovation at the same time: After more than 12 years, a new part of World of Outlaws will be released in autumn 2022. For the first time, however, it will be under the direction of Monster Games and iRacing. For them, it will also be the first step towards the world of console games.
The racing simulation of the same name, “iRacing”, has been around since 2008, but is only available on the PC. In terms of development, the studio is still keeping out of it – Monster Games is taking over completely for the Dirt Sprint Car game. Only artistic elements and an improved physics model are contributed by iRacing.
“We are excited to be working with World of Outlaws to publish the first Monster Games title under iRacing ownership,” commented Rich Garcia, founder of Monster Games, adding:
“Adding some iRacing assets and expertise in creating authentic car models will allow us to push MGI products further. With iRacing’s resources, we were able to take more time in development to add features and content that will give everyone a fun and realistic experience, from online multiplayer action to a career mode with real drivers and tracks.”
“We have been looking for the right opportunity for iRacing to enter the console market for some time and are excited to be working with World of Outlaws to take that first step later this year,” said Tony Gardner, President of iRacing.
However, it is still unclear which vehicles, drivers and tracks are licensed in the game. It is also unclear for which console generation the game will be released. Currently, there is only talk of Xbox and Playstation. However, all this is to be announced in the coming months.
