World Cup 2018: Mexico Win Over Germany Makes the Earth Move

Mexico win over Germany World Cup 2018

When Mexico scored against Germany yesterday, huge celebrations rang out across the South American country. Such was the size of the accumulative celebrations, an earthquake was caused through jubilant Mexican fans jumping up and down in Mexico City. Geological experts reported that seismic activity was triggered just after Lozano put Mexico ahead against an unusually poor Germany side.

Plenty to celebrate for Mexico fans

Mexico certainly gave their fans something to cheer about with an outstanding performance against a German team that is not used to losing. It was Mexico that started the game livelier and looked like the team that wanted it the most. The Germany squad looked tired and out of answers when it came to trying to find an equaliser.

Some big upsets already in this World Cup

This is probably the biggest upset of the tournament so far, with Argentina’s unexpected draw with Iceland, as well as Brazil being held by Switzerland being the other surprise results so far. Mexico have given themselves a great opportunity to go through to the next stage of the competition, whereas Germany will need to play much better in their next two games to secure progression to the Round of 16.

The next game for Germany is a massive one

This Germany squad had been highlighted by many football experts as the strongest one at the World Cup. The coach had been subject to scrutiny over leaving Sane out of the squad but he claimed at the time that having so many good players to choose from was a great position to be in. The team that played against Mexico failed to live up to the expectation but perhaps they just needed some match fitness after a short break at the end of the players’ respective seasons. They play Sweden next and you would not be surprised if they came out fighting and proved that it is far too early to write their chances off.
