World champion duel between Wagner and Schröder clearly goes to the Magic brothers

Thanks to a total of 37 points from the world champion brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner, the Orlando Magic won clearly against the Brooklyn Nets led by national team captain Dennis Schröder.

Franz Wagner was the game’s top scorer with 21 points in the 108:81 victory on Tuesday evening (local time) in Orlando. Schröder scored 15 points for the Nets, who have now lost five of their last six games, in his third outing from the start since moving to Brooklyn.

“Communication, effort, how we executed the game plan – we’ve seen it differently this year, it was good that everyone was ready,” said Franz Wagner, praising his team’s performance. “We’ve already had a few games where we let it slip away in the third quarter. So it was very good the way we came out of half-time.” After the break, the home side had steadily extended its lead

Strus’ trick shot defeats the Mavs

“It was an important game for us, considering how the last two games against them went,” said Franz Wagner, referring to the previous defeats against Brooklyn: “I was very pleased with how focused everyone was throughout the game.”

In contrast, there were setbacks for two other German NBA pros. Isaiah Hartenstein lost with the New York Knicks to the New Orleans Pelicans 92:115 and did not play at all.

Maxi Kleber, on the other hand, was on the court when Max Strus scored for the Cleveland Cavaliers with a shot from his own half to seal the Mavs’ 119-121 defeat as the clock ran out. The Mavs had previously taken the lead with just 2.9 seconds left on the clock. Luka Doncic’s 45 points in a Dallas jersey were not enough in the end, one day before his 25th birthday.
