Without Hundt and Schoormann: DBB with 13 players to Israel

The German basketball players will tackle the first of two World Cup qualifiers in Israel without Bennet Hundt and Len Schoormann.

Hundt from Oldenburg and Schoormann from Frankfurt are not part of national coach Gordon Herbert’s 13-man squad, which the German Basketball Federation (DBB) released on Tuesday. Germany will play Israel in Tel Aviv on Friday (1.30pm/Magentasport), and the two teams will meet again the following Monday in Heidelberg.

The German team has started its qualification for the 2023 World Cup with one win and one defeat. The first three teams in the group of four qualify for the next group stage. The 2023 World Cup will take place in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. Herbert will have to do without Euroleague professionals from FC Bayern Munich and Alba Berlin for the time being.
