FC Ingolstadt 04 have announced their first signing for the new year: The Schanzer are loaning Florian Pick from FC Heidenheim as of 1 January 2022.
As the FCI announced on the club website, there is also an option to buy the outfield player after the loan: “We had announced that we wanted to strengthen ourselves in terms of quality for the rest of the season and are happy to be able to sign Florian Pick, our first highly talented player,” said Malte Metzelder, manager of professional football at Ingolstadt about the new addition. “He brings pace and drive to the goal as well as a strong one-on-one. We want to support him in realising his full potential again and are convinced that he will enrich our game with his skills.”
Pick himself is looking forward to the task at Ingolstadt: “FCI is a really good address in German professional football, even though it is certainly facing a big challenge at the moment. But I’m happy to take on the challenge, I want to show what I can do and give it my all for our big goal,” the 26-year-old is quoted as saying.
Pick joined FCH in September last year and has made ten appearances in the second division this season. He now wants to help FCI, who are in last place with ten points, to stay in the league.
