Just in time for the start of training, Hannover 96 have presented their next new signing: Hyun-Ju Lee is on loan from FC Bayern for one season, with an option to buy afterwards
“Hyun-Ju is an exciting young player with whom we are expanding our options in the center of midfield. He has good pace, is technically highly trained and has a high level of intelligence. In confined spaces, he manages to resolve situations with good decisions. He also has a good forward line and can provide additional goal threat from midfield,” said 96 sporting director Marcus Mann on the second division club’s website.
The 21-year-old South Korean experienced his soccer education in his home country with the South Korean club Pohang Steelers. He also played for all of his country’s national teams from the U14 level. He is currently part of South Korea’s U23 squad. Lee scored seven goals in his 14 U internationals.
In January 2022, at the age of just 19, he made the leap to Europe and joined FC Bayern. There he made 26 appearances in the second team in the Regionalliga Bayern and made a name for himself with ten goals. Last season, he went on loan to Wiesbaden in the 2nd Bundesliga, where he played 31 matches (four goals). Lee was also unable to prevent SVWW’s relegation

However, the South Korean is staying in the Bundesliga 2 and will play for Hannover in the coming season. “96 played really good soccer for large parts of last season. It’s a big club with a lot of fans and a great stadium. When I heard about the interest, it was clear to me very quickly that I wanted to come to Hannover,” said the new man.
Lee, who will be given the number 11, will get to know his new teammates on Sunday morning. After signing the contract, the new signing will head to the training ground, where the second division club’s season opener is on the agenda
