Borussia Dortmund has been fined 4500 euros by the DFB Sports Court – the association granted a discount.
Because of the financial losses that the clubs are currently suffering due to reduced spectator capacities, the sports court is currently waiving 25 per cent of the fines. According to the valid penalty catalogue, BVB would actually have had to pay €6,000.
The reason for the fine is incidents from 16 October: at the home match against 1. FSV Mainz 05 (3:1), which was attended by 63,812 fans, six cups had been thrown from the Dortmund spectator area towards the pitch, according to DFB information, which then landed “in the coaching area in front of the Mainz bench”. BVB agreed with the verdict.
