Real Madrid are apparently making a new attempt to convince Kylian Mbappé to move to the Spanish capital – and have reportedly set a new deadline to do so.
This Monday, Kylian Mbappé enters the final six months of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain. This gives the 2018 world champion, who will be without a club from June 30, the chance to officially negotiate with potential suitors. This apparently brings Real Madrid onto the scene once again.
The Whites, who are said to have learned from their mistakes last summer, are demanding a commitment from Mbappé by mid-January, according to the usually well-informed “The Athletic”. This would leave the club with the option of looking for new strikers if the exceptional striker were to decline again.
The Whites have been very fortunate this season to have signed an unexpected goalscorer in Jude Bellingham. The England international, who joined the club from Borussia Dortmund for €103 million last summer, has scored 13 goals and two assists in 16 La Liga games and has seven points (four goals, three assists) in five Champions League appearances.

Without Bellingham’s accuracy, Real would not be where they are now – at the top of La Liga. Former Bundesliga professional Joselu, the only remaining “real” striker in the squad, has only scored five goals in 18 league games. The “burden of the fan” weighs heavily on the shoulders of the Stuttgart-born 33-year-old.
Mbappé’s transfer to Madrid on a free transfer would provide immediate relief. The Frenchman would join three national team colleagues in Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni in the Real project, which coach Carlo Ancelotti is set to lead following his recent contract extension until the summer of 2026.
