Udinese vs Torino Preview
Udinese and Torino have both started the campaign with one win, one draw, one loss, three goals scored and three goals conceded. There is nothing separating the 10th and 11th placed teams in Serie A at this moment.
Udinese enjoyed a rough 2016/17 season which nearly saw them drop out of Italy’s first division. They had a 12-game losing streak that spanned ten weeks from February to April. It turned ‘The Little Zebras’ from a mid-table team into a relegation contender. They survived thanks to two wins against relegation rivals Verona and Bologna, but their fans were far from happy with Udinese’s overall performance.

Massimo Oddo was in charge of the team during 11 of those 12 straight losses, so he was understandably fired and replaced by Igor Tudor. The former Croatia defender helped the team survive, but it wasn’t enough to earn a new contract. Julio Velazquez, who coached Alcorcon over the past two seasons, is Udinese’s new manager. At 36, he is also one of the youngest managers in Serie A.
Torino has been prowling behind Italy’s top clubs for a few years now. They are currently led by Walter Mazzari, who took over from Sinisa Mihajlovic in January. Torino’s owners hope Mazzari, one of the most reputable managers in Italy, will be able to extract the maximum from his players, something Mihajlovic was unable to do.
The start has been promising. Torino took care of business in Coppa Italia, defeating Cosenza 4-0. Then, they lost 1-0 to Roma at home (just barely), drew against a much improved Inter 2-2 and then beat Spal 1-0.
Udinese vs Torino H2H
Torino has won both of last season’s fixtures. They are unbeaten in the last five against Sunday’s opponent and have lost two of the last ten overall.
Udinese vs Torino Bet365 Odds
Udinese 2.87 (15/8)
Draw 3.25 (9/4)
Torino 2.45 (16/11)
A 1.42 (21/50) line for a draw or a Torino win is ripe and ready for the taking. Betting on goals is not a bad idea either, as the last four matches in Udine have ended: 2-3, 2-2, 1-5 and 3-2.
