Mohamed Salah has had just one full season playing in the Premier League for Liverpool. During his time at Chelsea, Salah was not given a run in the first team and had little time to show English football fans what he could do.
Together at Chelsea

The Egyptian forward was allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan and went to play in Italy, without many Premier League fans taking note of his progress.
While Salah was over in Italy, first playing at Fiorentina and then earning a permanent move to Roma, Chelsea had moved on and there was one man writing all the headlines as they won the Premier League title and his name is Eden Hazard.
The Belgian forward was already at Stamford Bridge when Salah joined the Blues in 2014 but it was Hazard who continued to flourish, while Salah was forced to watch from the sidelines. However, things have changed and having joined Liverpool last summer, it’s Salah who is earning all the plaudits and awards for his Premier League performances while Hazard has seemingly been left behind.

However, which of the two can claim to be the better player?
Salah’s stats for this campaign are unrivalled in the Premier League and there is no doubt he has been the best player in English football this season. The Egypt international has picked up every individual award available but there is one thing missing and that’s the Premier League title.
Hazard Disappointing

During Hazard’s career at Chelsea, the Belgian international has picked up the Player of the Year award, just like Salah has done this season but he has also taken his team to the Premier League title, winning it twice.
Despite his previous good form for Chelsea, Hazard has struggled this season. He produced one incredible performance against Newcastle United when he scored a hattrick but otherwise, Hazard has not been at his best and neither have Chelsea.
With the title out of reach for some time and an exit in the Champions League to Barcelona, Hazard’s form his dipped and there are strong rumours he could leave the club for a fresh challenge in the summer.
Salah on Fire

While Hazard has found life tough in the Premier League this season, Salah has gone from strength to strength. Having scored on his debut at Watford the Liverpool forward has been on fire and finished the season as the Premier League’s top goal scorer, breaking the previous record for goals in a 38 game season.
Liverpool is currently playing to Salah’s strengths, giving him the freedom to play in the attacking third whereas Chelsea have not had a good striker for Hazard to play off this season and that has contributed to his below par performances.
Salah’s transfer value has increased dramatically this season and it is the Egyptian who has become one of the leading contenders to join Real Madrid, with the reports of Hazard heading to the Santiago Bernabeu becoming less prominent.
There is no doubt, having discussed the topic previously on Sports of the Day, Salah is currently the best player in the Premier League. The question remains as to whether Salah can deliver the goods again next season but Hazard is sure to bounce back, whether it be at Chelsea or pastures new.
