Mark Webber is looking around for alternatives for the coming season, now Toyota is also said to have knocked on the Australian’s door
In the coming months, Mark Webber will have to decide what his future in Formula 1 will look like. If the Jaguar team does not make it into the top 6 by mid-season, the Australian can decide whether he wants to leave the team or not. If there are no suitable offers, the 27-year-old could well stay with the “Greens”.
But there are definitely one or two other teams that are interested in signing Mark Webber. First and foremost the BMW-Williams team, which will probably have to look for two new drivers for the coming season and is interested in experienced drivers. According to the trade magazine ‘Autosport’, Toyota has made contact with Webber’s manager Flavio Briatore.
The clever Briatore, who as Renault team boss has two drivers under contract with Fernando Alonso and Jarno Trulli, whom he himself manages, is likely to be interested in placing his protégé with Toyota, as the salary prospects there are better than with the Williams team.
