Wagner brothers score in single digits: Orlando disappoints again against Boston

Another defeat by 17 points, again against the Boston Celtics: things are no longer going as well for the Orlando Magic as they were at the start of the season.

The Orlando Magic with the world champion brothers Franz Wagner and Moritz Wagner have lost to the Boston Celtics again in the NBA. Two days after the 111:128 loss, they lost 97:114 to the record champions on Sunday. The Celtics are now top of the Eastern Conference with 20 wins and only five defeats. The Magic went into the duel in fourth place in the table and have 16 wins and nine defeats. However, five of those were in the last six games. As a result, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers have now overtaken the Magic in the Eastern Conference.

The Wagner brothers did not have a good day in offense. Franz Wagner hit only 3 of his 14 attempts from the field and finished the game with 8 points. Moritz Wagner, who was brought into the game from the bench, got less playing time and scored six points. The best scorer at the TD Garden in Boston was Paolo Banchero with 36 points.

However, that was not enough against the Celtics’ balanced scoring, in which all five starting players scored in double figures. The best scorer for the Celtics was Jaylen Brown with 31 points. Jayson Tatum contributed 23 points to the 14th consecutive home win at TD Garden.
