During the international break, VfB Stuttgart played a test match against Zurich. In addition to the victory, there was another piece of good news.
After his Corona infection, Stuttgart’s regular keeper Florian Müller was back in the game and played through 90 minutes. The goalkeeper last stood between the posts in the 3:1 against Hoffenheim on 2 October. At the weekend, Müller was back in the squad for the 0:1 against Bielefeld, but only sat on the bench.
Now Müller was able to gain match practice against Zurich, the second-placed team in the Swiss Super League, and kept his box clean. Alongside the keeper, Alexis Tibidi from the U19s also played, making his starting eleven debut for the professionals.
And for VfB, who with ten points from eleven games are not yet running smoothly in the league, there was a sense of achievement at the break. In the final minutes, Alou Kuol from the U21s scored the 1:0 winner.
