VfB talent Laupheimer extends “long-term”

VfB Stuttgart have extended the contract of U-19 captain Lukas Laupheimer on a long-term basis and are likely to have some hopes attached to it.

VfB has by far the youngest team in a Bundesliga comparison. The average age of the players used (31 in total) is 24.4 years. However, their own young talent still has a hard time. The new generation of young guns comes from all over the world.

Lilian Egloff would be one such home-grown player, but the 19-year-old is repeatedly plagued by injuries. There are many other promising talents in the Swabian U19 team, which is second in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga. But who will make the leap to the pros?

The captain of Nico Willig’s team is 18-year-old Lukas Laupheimer, and he has decided to extend his contract with VfB in the long term. However, the club did not provide any information about the exact term.

“With him, we have a reliable, intelligent and strategically strong six-man “

“Lukas has developed very well over the past few months. He is captain, leading player and top performer in our U19s and has already been able to gain experience in the regional league team,” NLZ director Thomas Krücken is quoted as saying. “With him, we have a very reliable, play-intelligent and strategically strong six-man who is technically broad-based, performance-motivated and willing to learn.” Krücken hopes the youngster will take the next step via the U21s.

Laupheimer, who has been at Stuttgart since 2016, has already made eleven appearances (one goal) at U19 level this season and has also played four times in the Regionalliga. He also played three times for Germany’s U 15 and U 16.
