Andreas Linde has signed a long-term contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Will the 28-year-old Swede from Molde FK bring stability to the goalkeeper position at the Bundesliga bottom club?
For a long time, the question was Sascha Burchert or Marius Funk? Neither of them made any major mistakes, but neither was really convincing in the Fürth goalkeeper’s box, saving SpVgg points from time to time. Burchert, the promotion-winning keeper, was replaced by Funk after six matchdays, but returned to goal after Funk’s serious knee injury. And now has to compete with Andreas Linde for the position in the Central Franconia goalkeeper’s box.
“With Andreas, we have gained a very good goalkeeper for our team. He has been a regular at Molde in recent years and has impressed with his performance both nationally and internationally,” explained coach Stefan Leitl.
Linde, who has signed a contract in Fürth until 30 June 2024, comes with the recommendation of 138 games in Norway’s top league, and he also played almost 24 times internationally for Molde. Plenty of experience, then, for the league’s bottom team, of whom Linde has gained “a very good impression in the talks”. “My very good first gut feeling has encouraged me” to move to the Ronhof.
