The winners of the second month of the VBL Open are known, some prominent FIFA players around Niklas ‘NRaseck’ Raseck have prevailed in December.

After November as the opening month of the VBL Open had still produced Leon ‘MrKrassle’ Krasniqi and Michael ‘Deos’ Haan as the most famous play-off qualifiers, the names got even bigger in December. Niklas ‘NRaseck’ Raseck, a former FUT Champions Cup winner, advanced to the next round of the German FIFA Individual Championship at the end of 2021.

The pro from Beckham organisation Guild Esports qualified on PlayStation under the gamertag ‘xGivenchyParis7’. In addition to the former German eNational player, ex-Schalker Joe ‘IQONIC_JH7’ Hellmann and ex-Hamburger Cina ‘LostInTheWavesz’ Hosseindjani were also successful on the Sony console.

‘Phenomeno’ moves into next round

A number of players from the second tier of VBL clubs again took part in the Open, with Bremen’s Jamie ‘SVW_Chaser’ Bartel taking the hurdle on PlayStation. On the Xbox side, former Cologne player Michael ‘Phenomeno’ Gherman was the most prominent FIFA pro to celebrate making the playoffs.

Patrick ‘x AzZze’ Straschek, who was still involved in the VBL as a presenter in the 2020/21 season, switched from the microphone to the controller – the player, who is now mainly active as a caster and coach, also triumphed on Xbox. Ten qualifiers have been determined per console in December, with the Open seeing three more monthly chances between now and March.
