Virgil van Dijk hoped to make a transfer to an English top club last summer.However, the Dutch defender did not get his way and is still under contract with Southampton.Since 2015 Van Dijk has been playing in the Saints’ shirt and in two years he has been competing against various strikers in the Premier League.
