This weekend, numerous MotoGP and WSBK riders will meet at the VR46 Ranch to compete against each other at the “100 km dei Campioni “
The ninth edition of the “100 km dei Campioni” dirt track event will take place next weekend at Valentino Rossi’s ranch in Tavullia (Italy). Rossi used to welcome his celebrity guests to his ranch in December, but switched to a weekend in January for the upcoming event. The race will take place on January 12th and 13th
A sponsor for the event has been found in ebay. The US company, which operates one of the largest online marketplaces, already supported Rossi’s MotoGP team last year.
As at previous events, the list of starters includes many prominent names. World champions Francesco Bagnaia, Franco Morbidelli, Marco Bezzecchi, Pedro Acosta, Fabio Di Giannantonio and, of course, Luca Marini are all on board from MotoGP. Rossi and Marini will once again form a team.
But some well-known names from the Superbike World Championship will also be taking part in Rossi’s cult event. Ex-Ducati works rider Michael Ruben Rinaldi is on the starting list, as are Danilo Petrucci and Remy Gardner.
One of the winners of the eighth edition will not be taking part: Lorenzo Baldassarri cannot take part because he is currently preparing for the season. After a disappointing rookie season in the Superbike World Championship, the Italian is returning to the Supersport World Championship. Elia Bartolini, with whom Baldassarri triumphed in 2022, will also be competing this year
