In the NBA, the Utah Jazz have stopped the Golden State Warriors’ winning streak. The Los Angeles Lakers suffered another defeat
After nine wins in a row, the Golden State Warriors and superstar Stephen Curry suffered an 85-111 defeat at the hands of the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night (local time).
The Warriors got off to the much better start, leading 13-0 before Utah worked their way back into the game and never trailed at all from midway through the third quarter. Curry recorded a poor shooting percentage of just 38.5 per cent and had to be satisfied with 16 points.
30th loss for the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their 30th defeat of the season in a 105-107 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. LeBron James scored 30 points, Anthony Davis had 17 and Russell Westbrook did not play at all one day before the end of the transfer period due to back problems.
Bulls bounce back – Raptors celebrate sixth win in a row
In the East, the Chicago Bulls ended their little losing streak and defended third place. Against the Charlotte Hornets, the former champions picked up a 121-109 and remain number three in the Eastern Conference behind the Miami Heat and defending champions Milwaukee Bucks. The Cleveland Cavaliers are also in fourth place with 33 wins and 21 losses after their 105-92 win over the San Antonio Spurs. With their sixth win in a row, the Toronto Raptors moved up to sixth place and a direct playoff spot. The Canadians won 117-98 at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
