For a short time there was already access to UFL. However, this was not planned, as Strikerz Inc. CEO Eugene Nashilov clarified.
The wait for UFL seemed to come to an end a few days ago. There were multiple reports on Reddit about the release of the new soccer game, which could be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. While some players were able to play a few games, the first doubts about the developer’s intentions were already being raised.
These were to be confirmed. An “unintentional glitch” had “made one of our internal developer builds available for a short time,” explained Eugene Nashilov on X (formerly Twitter). No damage was done, but the studio will still “take some time to investigate.” Addressing everyone who was able to catch a glimpse of the game, the Strikerz Inc. CEO said, “We promise to invite everyone who played to participate in the closed test as soon as we launch it. However, we ask you not to share any videos or screenshots of the game, as it was not our intention to release it in this way. “
Release in 2023 still realistic?
When exactly the intended launch date will be is still unclear. In “UFL-Journey”, the developer’s video diary, the “80” is emphasized more often – at about this percentage, the potential EA SPORTS FC competitor would be ready. Originally, the soccer game was supposed to be released in 2022, but the release was postponed to 2023 due to “quality concerns.” However, even the newly declared goal now seems rather unlikely.
Although there are still two months to go, Nashilov’s explanation does not give much hope. Because the developer build is not the alpha version and, as the CEO wrote, the closed test is yet to start. However, there is still no official correction of the release timeframe.
