Amateur boxer Oleg Prudky has died defending his homeland in the Ukraine war.
After kickoboxing world champion Maksym Kagal, the next Ukrainian martial artist has lost his life in the war against Russia.
Amateur boxer Oleg Prudky died on Sunday, according to his federation and coinciding media reports.
The 30-year-old worked for the Cherkassy police special unit in the centre of the country, defending his homeland against the invaders. He died in the attack on his base along with three of his colleagues.
The Ukrainian Professional Association wrote on Instagram, “We are sad to announce that the champion of the sport of the international boxing class, the champion of Ukraine, Oleg Prudky, died fighting against the Russian occupiers. “
Prudky was a two-time amateur champion and represented his country in the semi-professional World Series of Boxing competition.
