UFL: No development pause despite radio silence

The makers of UFL contacted the fans for the first time since February on Thursday – the development of the football simulation has not been paused.

With an anti-war statement, Strikerz Inc had responded to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 27. “We demand peace for Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians. We demand peace for the world!”, the developer had proclaimed at the time. Subsequently, he stopped public communication for almost a month.

The fear was obvious that the war in Eastern Europe would hit the employees of Strikerz Inc. particularly hard compared to most other video game companies. After all, the company has its headquarters in the Belarusian capital Minsk, but also a studio directly in Ukraine. A development stop on UFL was also on the cards.

“Comfort in the return to normality “

Until Thursday night, anyway, when Strikerz Inc. spoke out again for the first time. The developer paused the updates to the community, but by no means the work on UFL. And “very soon”, communication on progress should also return to its usual frequency.

“We understand as well as anyone that Ukraine and the world are in a deep crisis. While it feels strange to focus on video games in times like these, we hope some find comfort in the return to normalcy,” Strikerz Inc. writes by way of introduction in the new statement.

Discord server without release date

Next step is the creation of the Discord server, already announced in early February, to “get closer to the fans, share news, discuss new idea and build a constructive dialogue with the community”. However, there is no timetable for the release of this mouthpiece yet.
