On Tuesday Belgian champions Club Brugge bring Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund to the Jan Breydel Stadium. Christian Pulisic is in line to make his 100th competitive appearance for the German team – on his 20th birthday!

Team news

Pulisic has been out of action with a leg injury but is hoping to be ready to play Dortmund’s first Champions League fixture of the season. Paco Alcacer is struggling with a thigh strain and could miss the match. Axel Witsel should be fit to start in his home country. Marco Reus is set to lead the front line for Dortmund.

For Brugge, Clinton Mata is still not available for selection but Jelle Vossen is hitting fine form and could be given a starting berth following his goal haul from a substitute’s role.

Current form

Club Brugge have won six of their last seven matches in the lead up to this fixture to command the top spot in the Belgian First Division A league. Dortmund has only played three matches in the new Bundesliga season and have drawn one and won two of those. They sit in second place in the table behind Bayern who have won all three of their matches.

Brugge have not won a Champions League game in their last 10 fixtures. Dortmund won the Champions League back in 2013 when they beat Bayern Munich at Wembley but they have struggled to reach those heights in the last few seasons.
