Tyson Fury surprises with retirement

Boxing superstar Tyson Fury has announced his retirement. In a short clip, he has once again announced the end of his career.

Former world boxing champion Tyson Fury has once again announced the end of his career – and this time he seems to mean it. Around three weeks after his second defeat at the hands of Ukrainian heavyweight champion Alexander Usyk, the 36-year-old shared his decision in a video on social media on Monday.

“Hello everyone. I’ll make it short and sweet. I want to announce my retirement from boxing. It was a pleasure. I enjoyed every minute of it,” he said without beating around the bush.

Fury had already announced his retirement after his victory against Dillian Whyte in April 2022, but returned six months later.

Fury loses twice to Usyk

The “Gypsy King” had remained undefeated in his first 35 fights as a professional boxer. However, at the end of December, he lost to Usyk for the second time in a row.

Fury had become famous in 2015 when he unexpectedly knocked WBA, IBF and WBO world champion Wladimir Klitschko from the heavyweight throne after more than 11 years without defeat.

After that, Fury fell into a deep hole and made headlines for doping and drug offenses. In 2016, he returned all of his belts before making a big comeback in 2018.
