The world number one Aryna Sabalenka has crowned her perfect run at the Miami tennis tournament with the title. The Belarusian beat Jessica Pegula of the USA 7-5, 6-2 in the final, thereby triumphing without losing a set at the prestigious Masters 1000 tournament.
When asked about her plans for the night, Sabalenka replied with a laugh: “Definitely tequila.” It was the eighth Masters triumph of her career for the 26-year-old.
Will Djokovic make it 100?
In the men’s final this evening (8 p.m. CET), 24-time Grand Slam tournament winner Novak Djokovic of Serbia will play against Jakub Mensik of the Czech Republic. Should Djokovic triumph for the seventh time at the tournament in Florida, the 37-year-old Serb would also celebrate the 100th title of his career.
