Diego Carlos will play in the Premier League in the future. Aston Villa have signed the 29-year-old defender from Sevilla FC.
In the past transfer periods, the defensive mainstay of the 2020 Europa League winners (136 games in three years) had been linked with clubs bigger than Aston Villa every now and then. Coach Steven Gerrard’s club, however, have now won the bid.
For an undisclosed fee, centre-back Diego Carlos has moved to England from Spain, where he finished fourth in the table to 14th in the table last season.
The Brazilian is already on the island, where he will still complete the medical check and negotiate final personal conditions. However, the two clubs have already officially reported the agreement.
