Too many injured players: Ulm brings in Robinson

ratiopharm Ulm have reacted to their injury plight just two weeks before the start of the new season by signing Devin Robinson. Frankfurt also stepped up their game.

The US-American was given a temporary contract, as the club announced on Tuesday. The centre was last active in Puerto Rico. Josh Hawley has been the only player fit at the 4 and 5 positions in the past two weeks, it added.

“Devin is a jumping big man with outstanding rebounding skills and a variable offensive game. He will stabilise our performance under the boards,” said sports director Thorsten Leibenath about the 27-year-old newcomer.

The Ulm team will start the new season on 1 October with an away game at FC Bayern München. The first home game against BG Göttingen is scheduled for 5 October.

Frankfurt fetches give

The Frankfurt Skyliners have also reacted to an injury – namely that of Matt Haarms. Now the Lithuanian Martinas Geben has been signed from league rival Brose Bamberg. As the Skyliners announced on Tuesday, the 2.08 metre tall centre will receive a contract for the next two months with an option until the end of the season. Haarms will be out for four to six weeks with an ankle injury.
