Once again, top performances from ‘Umut in 2021
After already being awarded the best eFootballer of the Year in 2020, Gültekin continued his success story in 2021. Once again, the 19-year-old won a title and helped his team to excellent results.
RB Leipzig (RBLZ), for example, dominated their division in the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL), but was eliminated in the championship semi-finals by FC St. Pauli. However, that did not stop the eFootballer of the Year from securing the championship title in the individual competition.
“I am already very satisfied with my year in 2021,” ‘Umut’ told us accordingly at the Eligella Cup in Hamburg.
Although the 19-year-old was not able to achieve any major international successes, he was still the second best German behind Denis ‘Denis’ Müller in the rankings on PlayStation.
In FIFA 22, he was able to quickly build on his impressive form from the first half of the year. With 17 wins from singles and doubles, Gültekin is once again the measure of all things in the 2021/2022 season of the bevestor VBL Club Championship after 13 match days.
And things also seem to be getting off to a promising start internationally. In December 2021, ‘Umut’ has already punched his ticket to the eChampions League in the Qualifier – unbeaten, of course.
Veganz – as this year’s sponsor of the award – also congratulates ‘Umut’ on his title:
“We all need entertaining moments and exciting experiences in our lives. The eFootball offers this experience, which is rounded off in a particularly delicious way with sustainable snacks from Veganz.
