Title anniversary: Special tribute to Michael Schumacher in Spa

A special Legends Lounge will be dedicated to Michael Schumacher at this year’s Belgian GP – to mark his first title win 30 years ago

2024 marks the 30th anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s first world championship title. To mark the occasion, there will be a special Legends Lounge at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa dedicated to the career of the seven-time Formula 1 champion

The event agency Legends Experiences has teamed up with the Keep Fighting Foundation, which has been supporting numerous charitable organizations since 2016.

For the Legends Lounge Schumacher in Spa, the organizer promises “never-before-seen artefacts” and “a unique garage with his former cars”. An “Evening for Michael” is also planned, where guests will have the opportunity to talk to Schumacher’s old teammates and rivals.

As part of this event, there will also be an auction where “significant items and memorabilia from Michael’s impressive career” can be purchased. The proceeds will go to the Keep Fighting Foundation.

“This is the first time that the Keep Fighting Foundation and Michael’s family have supported this kind of experience,” says Sabine Kehm, Michael Schumacher’s manager.

“We are delighted that 30 years after his first world championship title, we can celebrate his racing career at Spa-Francorchamps, where it all began for him in Formula 1. We are proud to be the launch event for the Legends Lounge as we always enjoy celebrating Michael’s amazing career. “

Vanessa Maes, CEO of the Spa Grand Prix, added: “Spa-Francorchamps is an integral part of Formula 1 history and Michael Schumacher is undoubtedly one of the drivers who has experienced some of the greatest moments in that history.”

“The fact that the Legends Lounge has chosen to launch its innovative hospitality concept here shows that our fans are once again being recognized as true enthusiasts, and this new offering gives them the opportunity to enjoy an experience that matches their expertise,” Maes continued.

The Legends Lounge Schumacher is set to be the first in a series of such events, which the company says “will be announced in the coming months”.
