The last play-in decisions for the EU Masters in League of Legends came to an end at the weekend shortly before the start of the tournament. Three German teams are taking part.
The participation of SK Gaming is particularly pleasing. The organisation had to fight its way through the final play-ins of the Masters at the weekend, unlike Schalke 04 eSports and Prime League champions Unicorns of Love.
SK Gaming follows Schalke and the Unicorns
In these, SK held their nerve on the decisive Sunday and secured their place in the group stage with a 2-0 win over the White Dragons. In Group C, the Cologne team will now face Valiance from Croatia, the French team BDS Academy and the Spanish team Heretics.
Schalke, meanwhile, will face Dusty from Iceland, Italy’s Macko Esports and Gameward from France in Group D. French will also be in Group A, where the Unicorns will face Team Vitality. In addition, they will face Zero Tenacity from Poland and the Spanish organisation Giants for the knockout stage.
To advance to this, at least second place must be achieved in the group. In the single elimination bracket, the title holder will then be played out in a classic knockout system over three rounds.
