The Hessian Bundesliga club had to do without three infected professionals at the start of training after the short Christmas holiday on Thursday.
According to the SGE, Croatian Kristijan Jakic, Portuguese Goncalo Paciencia and substitute goalkeeper Jens Grahl had already tested positive before returning to Frankfurt. All three players are said to be symptom-free and are in domestic quarantine.
Preparation starts as planned
All further results of the PCR tests carried out on Wednesday were negative. According to Eintracht, the preparation can therefore “start as planned”.
Eintracht will open the second half of the season with a clash between sixth and second-placed Borussia Dortmund on 8 January. Kick-off on that Saturday evening at Deutsche Bank Park is at 6.30 p.m.
