With his season-best 38 points, Klay Thompson led the Golden State Warriors to a home win over defending champions Milwaukee Bucks.
Thompson had only made his return to the NBA a few weeks ago after a two-year injury layoff. Now he helped end the Bucks’ recent six-game winning streak. In the 122-109 win on Saturday night (local time), Thompson was by far the most successful Warriors professional – also because Steph Curry had only seven shot attempts and stayed at eight points. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 31 points for the Bucks.
The Bucks’ gap to the Miami Heat at the top of the Eastern Conference remained unchanged despite the loss as the Florida team also lost. They lost 104-113 to the playoff-challenged Minnesota Timberwolves, while the Chicago Bulls made up some ground with a 101-91 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
