Already qualified: Germany, Denmark, France, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Serbia, Switzerland, England, Netherlands

This is what the play-offs look like:
Semi-finals: Italy-North Macedonia 0:1, Portugal-Turkey 3:1, Sweden-Czech Republic 1:0, Wales-Austria 2:1, Scotland-Ukraine.
Final duels: Wales against winners Scotland/Ukraine, Poland, who have a bye after Russia’s exclusion for the final round, against Sweden (Tuesday), Portugal against Northern Macedonia (Tuesday).

Africa

Starting places: 5

Already qualified: none – Ten teams will play for the five tickets in the World Cup qualifying play-offs

Asia/Australia

Starting places: 4 or 5* (plus one for host Qatar).
