15 drivers from the 2022 DTM field will be competing in the Spa 24 Hours this weekend – some even for their established teams
This weekend’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (28-31 July) is one of the highlights of the GT3 scene’s racing year and, with 66 cars entered, the biggest GT3 race in the world. Fifteen drivers from the DTM 2022 driver line-up will also be competing on the “Ardennes rollercoaster” this weekend – some even for their established DTM teams.
For example, the two GruppeM drivers Maro Engel and Mikael Grenier, who even form a pure DTM driver trio on the Mercedes-AMG 2 with reigning DTM champion Maximilian Götz (Winward), among others.

In the Audi camp, only Marius Zug will be driving the 66.
His DTM team-mate Kelvin van der Linde will be driving for Team WRT, which is also known from the DTM. The South African will share the 32 with Dries Vanthoor and Charels Weerts – one of the trio of favourites at Spa.
Also driving for WRT-Audi in Belgium is Nico Müller. The Rosberg driver has probably the most prominent team-mate in the form of new motorbike world champion Valentino Rossi. The third driver on the Audi, which will be running with Rossi’s chracteristic starting number 46, is the Belgian Frederic Vervisch.
Ferrari and BMW only represented by teams at Spa
The current leader in the DTM standings will also be making a trip to Spa this weekend: Grasser driver Mirko Bortolotti will be driving a Lamborghini of the Swiss racing team Emil Frey. Nicki Thiim, who drove for the Lamborghini team T3 in the DTM at the beginning of the season, will pilot the Aston Martin with the 47 Porsche of Team KCMG.
From the BMW and Ferrari camps, the Walkenhorst and AF Corse teams will start in Spa, but none of the DTM drivers from these two brands are on the entry list.
