Legend Bill Goldberg and megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are back – and the events in WWE continue to unfold!
Immediately after the big event Bad Blood in Atlanta, the wrestling market leader has made the next bombshell: In a moment apparently intended for viral marketing, former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens turned against WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and beat him up.

The heel turn had been in the works for some time, at least since WWE portrayed Owens as a man who had lost his killer instinct after he lost to Rhodes at Bash in Berlin. The fact that Rhodes teamed up with his old enemy Reigns at Bad Blood instead of with his usual allies Owens and Randy Orton fueled the dispute in the past few weeks.
Now Owens’ character change has come to a head under unexpected circumstances: Owens and Rhodes got into an argument in a arena parking lot within view of fans, whereupon Owens ultimately became physical. WWE did not (yet) post the events on social media as usual, but apparently successfully relied on fan videos to spread the scenes there by themselves.

A possible rematch for the title between Rhodes and Owens is another option WWE has for the upcoming major events Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia and Survivor Series in Vancouver.
Rhodes was in the main event of Bad Blood with Roman Reigns, defeating Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of the Bloodline with the help of the returning Jimmy Uso. As the final point of the show, icon The Rock surprised and engaged in a stare-down with Reigns and Rhodes. A title match between Rhodes and Rock seems like the logical main event for next year’s WrestleMania in Las Vegas.
