The Latest MLB Trade News: Duvall Traded to Atlanta Braves for 3 Players

Some of the biggest news to come out on Monday night prior to the trade deadline is that Cincinnati Reds left fielder Adam Duvall is heading to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for three players. Lucas Sims, Matt Wisler and Preston Tucker are the players going in the other direction.

Sims is said to be the key player in the deal, with Red’s president of baseball operations Dick Williams being very keen to see what they can get out of him. He has been given limited chances in the Major League but was a first-round pick in the 2012 MLB Draft.

Williams has said that whilst he is pleased with the progress made by the Reds this summer, the trade of Duvall is based on how they want to shape up ahead of next season. They think that this trade deal will help them to keep the team’s current form but to start improving further along the road.

Kela to Pirates and Archer linked to moves

Keona Kela

In other news, Kela has been traded to the Pirates, whilst there is also a lot of talk about Chris Archer. It is thought that the Yankees, the Padres, the Brewers and the Braves are in the mix for him.

Kinsler to Red Sox

Ian Kinsler

The Boston Red Sox have gone for Ian Kinsler from the LA Angels, with Williams Jerez and Ty Buttrey going in exchange. This could mean bad news for Boston’s second baseman, Dustin Pedroia.

Curtis Granderson interest

Curtis Granderson

The Blue Jays’ Curtis Granderson could be heading out with both the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies said to be interested in acquiring him. He goes into free agency at the end of the offseason so it would make sense for a trade at this point.

Lance Lynn to Yankees

Following on from adding J.A. Happ to the roster, the NYY have been busy again and this time added Lance Lynn. Tyler Austin and Luis Rijo are going to the Minnesota Twins as part of the deal.
