The latest weather forecast for the tenth race of the 2022 Formula 1 season at Silverstone, with predictions for the subsequent race in Spielberg
There are very crucial questions on every race weekend of Formula 1 2022. Namely: What is the weather forecast? Can we expect a wet track on site? Will we need intermediates or even rain tyres? Or will it simply remain consistently dry from practice through qualifying to the race and dry tyres will suffice? In short: What do the drivers around Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have to be prepared for?

However, all information is without guarantee, as some motorsport venues such as Spa-Francorchamps or the Nürburgring are known for having particularly changeable weather that cannot always be accurately forecast. Precipitation can also occur there unannounced.

A true classic awaits Formula 1 with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. In the past years it has always been spectacular. Hamilton’s victory on three tyres in 2020 and, of course, the violent collision between the seven-time world champion and Max Verstappen in 2021 are unforgettable.
The weather, untypical for English conditions, has always been on its best side. Will the sun shine in 2022 too, or will it rain after all?
On Friday the sky will be quite dark. Large cloud fields are expected, which should hardly let a ray of sunshine through. Consequently, temperatures will be quite cool for early July with peaks between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. There is also a slight chance of rain around noon, but it is not expected for the rest of the day.
Wind will also be an issue on Friday: This comes from the southwest and reaches speeds of up to 44 km/h. As the Silverstone circuit generally offers little wind protection, this is sure to cause one or two problems for the drivers.
Saturday is going to be even more unpleasant. The sun still doesn’t stand a chance against the thick cloud fields, from which, however, there is still a big risk of rain on Saturday. The chance of light rain is over 90 percent all afternoon, the chance of heavier rain is 52 percent.
For this reason, low temperatures between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius are expected. And the wind will also increase again. As on Saturday, it will come from the south-west, but this time it will reach 55 km/h, which could be a problem, especially in qualifying, when the cars are very light.
Sundaywill be the most pleasant day of the weekend. Although the sky is still quite cloudy, no rain is expected as of now. At 20 degrees Celsius, it will be a little warmer than the previous two days and the wind will also drop a little: Coming from the west, it “only” reaches speeds of around 42 km/h at its peak.
So it doesn’t seem to be a summery Silverstone Grand Prix, but at least the conditions should be quite pleasant for the drivers and teams. Still, the English weather is known to change quickly at any time, so you can never be too sure.

Summery conditions are forecast for the Formula 1 race weekend in Spielberg. With probably around twelve hours of sunshine per day, temperatures at the Red Bull Ring will reach up to 25 degrees Celsius. The best day will probably be Sunday. There is a slight chance of rain for the entire event, but it will probably remain dry in Spielberg.
