The Bavarians also steal the second game from Bonn

After Alba Berlin, the Bavarians also took a 2-0 lead in their semi-final series. The Munich team also stole the second game in Bonn on Monday. The Telekom Baskets now have their backs to the wall.

The FC Bayern München basketball players are only one win away from entering the BBL play-off final. On Monday, the Bavarians also won the second semi-final game at Telekom Baskets Bonn with 82:81 (49:44) and are 2-0 ahead in the “best of five” series. With a win in Munich on Saturday, the Bavarians will move into the final series.

In front of the eyes of French NBA centre Rudy Gobert in the stands, who had played together with Bonn’s Michael Kessens for a year in France as a youth player, the Bonners got off to the better start. Although their leader Parker Jackson-Cartwright had to take a seat on the bench early on with two fouls, thanks to the clearly better three-point quota the hosts led 25:21 at the quarter break.

In the 16th minute of the game, national player Andreas Obst scored the first Munich lead, with three three-pointers in the second quarter Obst together with Deshaun Thomas ensured the five-point lead at the break. After Jackson-Cartwright, Bonn’s second best scorer, Javontae Hawkins, also picked up his fourth foul in the third quarter. But Karsten Tadda and Jeremy Morgan kept the Rhinelanders in the game.

Bayern gained the momentum in the final quarter, but Bonn struck back twice in the closing stages. Othello Hunter went to the free-throw line with three seconds left in an 81-81 tie and scored to give the visitors the win. Because Bonn’s Hawkins missed his three-pointer with the final siren.
